An alien (be yourself no matter what they say)

A Zimbabwean in New York*

I have been getting a lot of questions, like “why are you doing this?”

Truth is I just enjoy it… I stopped writing for a minute…

About 4 am Saturday night I thought id combine my staycation and writing**. I don’t know if it has ever been done before, but it’s a totally original idea (much like slicing bread)... The blog is gona die In a week or so (when I get back to my regular life - so join in or miss your chance at making history). I got “The Twitter” set up to post on the blog page as I go along, on my one-week adventure thru the Northeast.

There is something about writing… Not just writing, but being able to communicate an idea or a concept follow it through (sometimes flip it, mid way through – for a somewhat humorous effect).

The real key or bonus for me is actually having someone actually WANT to just read the blog (despite the continuous calls, texts and emails to anyone who’s number, facebook or email I have asking “did u read my blog”), there is a sense of satisfaction derived from when people read it cus well… they want to***.
I really wish I had something mildly relevant to write about (like Obama drinking wack ass beer at a Beer summit)

The blogging is fun for me, I enjoy it... I cannot sing, draw, rhyme, write or even spell to save my life!!!

But I can be entertaining (well “some” of the times)… It’s not a career move (although I wish it was)

I have a week to kill starting “Tu” morrow had free time open up, I get to leave the apartment, see some old friends, I enjoy writing, might as well write about it.

I blog, cus its fun, I listen to the music I listen to not cus its popular cus I just like it.

If you where thinking it, you are right! I write just to make yaal dumber…

*Try Hum along to Stings song Englishman in New York, while u read this
** call it a beer-ephony
*** Yes I am well aware of the fact that most of my friends have trouble reading…

I like...although it sounds a little like a justification. Your previous blogs (like way back in the day) were also interesting. You're good at this. Roll wit it. It sucks I have to wait until tomorrow to hear about today.
